A fire broke out in a detached single-family house in the municipality of Ürzig on Friday evening. Emergency services and local police responded to the incident in the Landkreis Bernkastel-Wittlich district in Rhineland-Palatinate. Rooftop escape and emergency response

The 47-year-old resident of the property was rescued by crossing over the roof of an adjacent neighbouring house to reach safety. A 42-year-old first responder intervened at the scene during the incident. Both the 47-year-old resident and the 42-year-old first responder suffered mild smoke inhalation from the fire. Emergency medical personnel provided assistance at the site and transported both men to a hospital for treatment.
