Nvidia takes a minority stake in Doctolib and three French AI start-ups
Nvidia will become a minority shareholder in the French medical booking platform Doctolib and has also invested in three French AI start-ups, Jensen Huang announced in Paris on Tuesday, 13 October 2026. The amounts for the four deals have not been disclosed.
Stake in Doctolib
Nvidia will become a minority shareholder in Doctolib, the French platform for booking medical appointments, without a seat on its board. Jensen Huang announced the move on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at an event in Paris. Stanislas Niox-Château, who runs Doctolib, told AFP that the American group will hold a minority position with no board representation. The new capital is meant to speed up hiring and let the company develop its own AI models, so that it no longer depends on providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic. Doctolib aims to launch virtual assistants for patients and caregivers by 2027/2028, using Nvidia computing power.
Three start-ups and the European push
Huang also named three French AI companies receiving Nvidia investment. Genesis AI works on artificial intelligence for robotics and is described as Franco-American. Pigment makes planning software for businesses that uses AI, and Entalpic applies generative AI to materials discovery for the chemical industry. Nvidia did not disclose the amounts for these four deals. Huang said the company had invested at least 8 billion dollars in Europe in 2025 and planned to spend another 2 billion dollars in 2026. He is scheduled to continue his European tour to London, Stockholm and Berlin.

Meeting with Macron and reactions
Huang met Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. Macron wrote on X that the partnership brings open, safe artificial intelligence that serves France's sovereignty. The Ligue des droits de l'homme has voiced concern about Doctolib launching a research programme that draws on data from its 50 million users. Those concerns surfaced shortly before the Nvidia announcement. Nvidia had already drawn attention in September, when it took control of the Franco-American platform Hugging Face for 12.9 billion dollars.
Jobs and safety in Huang's interview
In an interview with several French outlets, including Ouest-France, Huang rejected the view that AI could end humanity. He argued that AI remains under human control and that safety technology has to advance alongside it. He compared this to a car, where braking systems, radars, cameras and airbags form part of the vehicle itself. On employment, he said communities hosting data centres have seen new jobs and investment in local power grids. He also cited 15,000 new start-ups created worldwide in 2025 as evidence that AI is creating jobs.
