78th Creative Arts Emmy Awards begin in Los Angeles across two ceremonies

The 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards began on Saturday with the first of two consecutive weekend ceremonies at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The Sunday roster includes five categories shifted off the main Primetime Emmy telecast by the Television Academy, a scheduling change that drew objections from Hollywood guilds. Nominees across the weekend include Hacks, Beef, and The Pitt, with attendees such as Desi Lydic and Eugene Levy appearing on the red carpet. Sunday also features the Governors Gala before the two ceremonies are edited into a single broadcast airing September 12 on FXX. The main 78th Primetime Emmy Awards telecast will air on September 14 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time (5 p.m. Pacific Time) on NBC and Peacock.
